EN / Lucia Kocmanová sees her work as existing in the undefined realm between product design and creative art, often with an overlap into architecture, which also greatly inspires her. While past projects focused on effective corporate identity systems, recent works have encompassed interior design, made-to-measure furniture, bespoke paravans, and small free-standing objects. To her current practice, she is able to apply the abundance of experience gained from international design studios and advertising agencies, as well as from one-on-one collaboration with her own clients. Her career path has evolved from graphic design, expressed in two dimensions, to problem-solving surfaces and shapes for packaging design, all the way to the implementation of spatial design. The residential dwelling, House A, was designed utilizing large-scale, multi-layer panels of CLT (cross laminated timber). As creator, being able to oversee the build has brought her valuable experience and a deeper understanding of this trending, innovative building material.

Lucia obtained a master's degree at the faculty of visual communication of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, Slovakia and took part in the exchange program of the Högskolan för konst och design, at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden. She supplemented her education with a course in Architectural Modelling at Delft University of Technology, Netherlands.

CZ / Na pomezí užitého a volného umění vnímá svoji tvorbu designérka Lucia Kocmanová. Často s přesahem do architektury, která ji také inspiruje. Mezi její starší realizace patří úspěšné vizuální identity a nově návrhy interiérů, nábytku na míru, originálních paravánů nebo drobných volných objektů. Ve své současné práci úročí zkušenosti nabyté v mezinárodních designových studiích a reklamních agenturách a také ze spolupráce se soukromými klienty. Její cesta vedla od grafického designu, který se vyjadřuje v ploše, přes řešení povrchů a tvarů v obalovém designu až k prostorovým realizacím. Rodinný dům House A navrhla z velkoplošného vícevrstvého panelu typu CLT (cross laminated timber). Při autorském dozoru nad jeho stavbou získala cenné zkušenosti s tímto, v současnosti rozmáhajícím se, stavebním materiálem.

Lucia získala magisterský titul na katedře vizuální komunikace Vysoké školy výtvarných umení v Bratislavě a na Högskolan för konst och design švédské University of Gothenburg absolvovala studijní pobyt v ateliéru designu. Vzdělání si doplnila o kurz modelování v architektuře na holandské Delft University of Technology.
